Climate Modeling

This visualization of sea surface temperatures was generated by researchers in the Climate Change Prediction Program, formerly called CHAMMP (Computer Hardware, Advanced Mathematics and Model Physics). Red and yellow colors indicate warmer temperatures, while greens and blues are cooler. Sponsored by the Department of Energy’s Office of Biological and Environmental Research, the program focuses in part on the application of high-performance computing to the development of computationally efficient and numerically accurate climate prediction models.
