The DOE NNSA SSGF program holds annual poster and essay contests with the goal of awarding excellence while enhancing the science communication skills of fellows and alumni.

DOE NNSA SSGF Poster Contest

All first-, second- and third year-fellows compete in a poster contest as part of the DOE NNSA SSGF Annual Program Review. Poster sessions offer a unique opportunity to communicate science to diverse audiences — from colleagues and scientists representing different fields to lay persons and the press.

DOE NNSA SSGF Essay Contest

The annual DOE NNSA SSGF Essay Contest encourages improved communication between scientists and non-expert audiences regarding the value of stewardship science fields to society. The competition is open to all fellows and alumni, and winners are announced each summer as part of the annual program review.
