Summary of Research
Michelle Garcia is a graduate student at Dartmouth College studying theoretical and computational chemistry. She utilizes computer simulations to understand the mechanisms by which small molecule drugs bind intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs), a challenging class of drug target associated with many currently untreatable neurodegenerative diseases and cancers. Michelle's research combines mathematical methods from topology and differential geometry with machine learning techniques to characterize IDP drug binding modes and inform the design of more potent inhibitors.Publications
