Matthew Gomez
Matthew (Matt) Gomez is a senior member of the technical staff in Sandia National Laboratories’ Radiation and Fusion Experiments Department. Matt joined Sandia in early 2011 shortly after he earned his Ph.D. in nuclear engineering and radiological sciences from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the second class of DOE NNSA SSGF students.
Since joining the Sandia staff, Matt has conducted experiments on the Z facility, acting as PI on 8 shot series and conducting numerous ride-a-long experiments. His areas of research include magnetically driven implosions for fusion, power flow delivery, and visible and x-ray spectroscopy diagnostic development.
