Fellowship Will be Represented Well at SIAM CSE 2021
More than 20 fellows and alumni of the Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF) are organizers, presenters or paper co-authors at the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics 2021 Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (SIAM CSE) to be held virtually March 1-5.
Alumnus Stefan Wild (2005-2008), now at Argonne National Laboratory, is a co-chair of the conference organizing committee. Tobin Isaac (2009-2013) of Georgia Tech is a committee member.
Wild was elected chair of the SIAM CSE activity group in December 2020. Alumnus Jeff Hammond (2005-2009), most recently at Intel Corp., was elected vice chair and alumna Judith Hill (1999-2003) of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory was elected program director.
The DOE CSGF also will participate in the SIAM CSE virtual career fair on March 3.
The SIAM CSE conference “seeks to enable in-depth technical discussions on a wide variety of major computational efforts on large-scale problems in science and engineering, foster the interdisciplinary culture required to meet these large-scale challenges, and promote the training of the next generation of computational scientists.”
