Adaptive Mesh Refinement for Multiphase Flow and Transport in Porous Media

Initial work is presented on the application of adaptive mesh refinement to the simulation of multiphase flow and transport in the subsurface. In this work, adaptive mesh refinement is combined with higher-order Godunov methods and a hybrid mixed finite element discretization.
