Is science communication beneficial, or even necessary? Can talking about science make you a better scientist? Can scientists at all levels connect directly to audiences and is that a good thing? Some strange words float around like "branding" – is that useful at all? The answer to all those questions is yes, and I'll give examples from my own experience to convince you.
