Monday, July 17 — 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Department of Energy laboratory staff showcased computational science research opportunities during an afternoon career-fair-style event. With displays hosted by practicum coordinators, scientists and/or human resources professionals, the two-hour session afforded fellows an introduction to lab culture, instruments, and supercomputers; and to the multidisciplinary, team-based science conducted across the country's impressive network of cutting-edge facilities.
In addition to serving as a forum for practicum discussions, the event included networking and information regarding full-time employment at sites spanning coast to coast.
